As we near the end of 2023, we wanted to share some of the highlights from our work this past month. We have had many opportunities to impact students and families throughout Chatham County. We are grateful for everyone who makes our work possible – together we are surrounding students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.
Carol Eubanks recently connected with CISCC Student Support Specialists Ms. Eva & Hadasa. Carol serves as the regent of the Deep River Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. Together, Ms. Carol and her chapter generously donated 800 books to Virginia Cross Elementary, Siler City Elementary, & Pittsboro Elementary School. Heartfelt thanks for your unwavering support, Carol and Daughters of the American Revolution!
Our impact extends in diverse ways, touching the lives of families and students. A big thank you to La Farm Bakery for their generous bread donations! Your support is a blessing, helping us meet the needs of our community.
Over the past 4 years, Joan Bullard and her Governors Club neighbors have excelled in collecting toiletries and gift cards for CIS Chatham County families. Beginning with 100 bags, they doubled their efforts the next year, reaching 200 bags. Last year, they introduced gift cards, providing even more support. This year, Joan and friends collected 69 toiletry bags and over $6000 in gift cards. We are so grateful for Joan Bullard and Governors Club for your unwavering generosity!
As far as first time experiences go, The Triangle Youth Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker was a big hit for Katalina. Not only did she watch a captivating performance, she took home a souvenir – a pink nutcracker!!!
Katalina and her mentor, Andrea Tarpley, attended the show held at Chapel Hill High in early December. CIS Chatham County is grateful to The Triangle Youth Ballet for their generous donation of tickets for their performances in Chapel Hill and Durham.
We couldn’t be more grateful for the love and support that we receive each holiday season from our many community partners! We are so appreciative of the connection and trust as dependable stewards of our community’s generosity. A special shout out to Chatham Church for always making it happen!
70 coats were delivered directly to the hands of Chatham County Schools students throughout the County.
We had a great time as a staff representing CIS Chatham County in the Siler City Christmas Parade. It is always a joy to be out in the community and highlighting our work!
