Page Vernon Memorial Fund

A Lasting Gift of Mentorship, Justice, and Love for Children

For nearly a decade, Page Vernon served Communities In Schools of Chatham County (formerly Chatham County Together!) with compassion, humility, and grace. As an attorney, district court judge, mentor, board member, and advocate, Page devoted her life to ensuring that all children—especially those facing adversity—had someone in their corner and a chance to succeed.

Page’s mentoring embodied the heart of the CIS mission: to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. She lived this mission deeply, walking beside young people with patience and care. Her mentee, Yael, recalls, “Page was like a second mother to me. She encouraged me to finish school, helped me believe in myself, and showed me how to be a better parent. I carry her lessons with me every day.”

Since its creation in 2014, the Page Vernon Memorial Fund has continued Page’s life’s work by supporting the integrated student supports that now reach more than 1,800 Chatham County youth each year. Through mentoring, academic support, family, and enrichment programs, her spirit continues to lift up students who need it most.

Today, we invite those who knew and loved Page—and those inspired by her legacy—to honor her by giving to the Page Vernon Memorial Fund. Your contribution strengthens the network of care she helped build, ensuring that every young person in Chatham County has the support they need to learn, grow, and thrive.

“I’ve worked with three different school systems and I have never seen a team solve problems about students the way you all do. It’s like you take the time to know the student and their situation, and I know that is not easy but yet you do it. Thank you for being a part of this team!!!”
